What type/brand of shingles and materials do you use?
We prioritize your preference for materials without bias towards any brand, recommending high-quality GAF & CertainTeed shingles. We aim to exceed standard codes by offering upgrades, ensuring we build not just to meet but to surpass industry best practices.
Regarding brands of materials, we believe that since it is your home, we should use whatever brand you prefer. We are NOT affiliated with or owned by any material manufacturer as many roofers are, and we have no bias or vested interest in any one brand over another.
Our experience and professional opinion are that the two shingle brands of the highest quality are GAF & CertainTeed. Regarding the grade of materials and their specifications, insurance will pay for a like-for-like replacement of what you have, and so that’s what we’ll use at a minimum.
We also believe in not simply doing the minimum of what’s required or building only “to code” but instead building “above code” and according to industry “best practice”. This means in many cases, we will offer no-cost upgrades to the materials specified by your insurance because that’s the way we would construct or repair our own homes.
We will review and specify all of these details with you when we review the scope and estimate from the insurance company with you. Many homeowners choose this time to select material upgrades for an additional out-of-pocket cost, and we will present the benefits and precise pricing for those optional materials.
