Do I have to pay my deductible?

YES! In 2019 a law was passed in the Texas legislature that clearly states that homeowners MUST pay their full deductible on insurance claims. This is to enforce and prevent insurance fraud. If you do not pay your full deductible, you are at risk of having legal penalties up to and including 180 days in jail and fines up to $2,000.
